New York City has nearly 15,000 firefighters. Now, imagine if the mayor were to lay off a third of them. That is what has happened in my hometown of Wenatchee, WA. If the layoffs happened in New York City, they would’ve quickly become a nationwide news story. But, a town like Wenatchee goes unnoticed.
This film discusses what it takes for the Wenatchee Fire Department to do its job and protect the community that it serves. It also brings to light potential threats that face the fire department, and how those conflict with local ordinances, state law, and national standards.
