Hey Peak Design

My name is Richard Lutz, and I’m a Los Angeles-based Video Editor and Content Creator. I saw that you’re looking for a Social Media Manager and Content Creator, and I’d love to learn more.

For the past few years, I was a Video Editor at Guitar Center, working on product demos, artist profiles, and brand films with Grammy-nominated musicians and brands like Fender, Gibson, and Line 6. That role showed me how long-form content and quick social clips both drive results. Social videos especially stood out because they do such a good job of educating customers and building brand loyalty. That’s where I really started to get hooked on making content that grabs attention and connects with people.

I’ve also been a Peak Design fan for a while. I picked up the Everyday 30L Backpack back in 2018, and it’s still my go-to bag whether I’m shooting in LA or traveling. Since then, I’ve added the Capture Clip, Travel 30L Backpack, Wrist Cuff, Tech Pouch, and a few other pieces. What I love is that every product has solved a real problem I had with other gear, like getting quick access to my camera, keeping cables and hard drives organized, or just having something that doesn’t fall apart after a year. You’ve built gear that lasts and actually makes life easier for creators.

I also appreciate that Peak Design doesn’t just make great products; you have fun with them. Whether it’s calling out Amazon for copying your bags or putting Jimmy Chin in your promos, the content feels smart, playful, and true to the community. That’s the kind of storytelling I want to be part of, content that entertains, inspires, and makes people care.

This role feels like the perfect fit. I’d be excited to join the team and help make content that speaks to the same creative community I’m part of.

You can check out my work here. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Silly videos I’ve made. You’re welcome.

Stranded, sunburned, and stupid. Please rescue me!

What’s tastier, a grilled cheese or a burger?

A grilled cheese sandwich is simple, but it’s proof that simple ingredients can make something perfect. Tillamook medium cheddar on whole-grain bread is all it takes. The crunch, the melt, the stretch of the cheese. It doesn’t matter if you’re five or thirty-nine. This sandwich cuts across everything. Age, race, class, culture. When not much else brings people together these days, a grilled cheese still can. It’s greasy fingers and burnt crusts. It’s comfort after a bad day. It’s food that doesn’t try too hard, and that’s the point. No pretense. No rules. Just bread, cheese, and heat doing their thing.

(Random thought: At 2 am outside a bar, you can get a hot dog. But imagine if it were grilled cheese. That sandwich could heal things in us we didn’t know were broken.)

simple sandwich proving humanity still has a chance.
